Name: | Edmund Grantaire |
---|

"Still, this skeptic had a fanaticism. This fanaticism was neither an idea, nor a dogma, nor an art, nor a science; it was a man: Enjolras. ...Grantaire, a true satellite of Enjolras, lived in this circle of young people; he dwelt in it; he took pleasure only in it; he followed them everywhere. His delight was to see these forms coming and going in the fumes of the wine. He was tolerated for his good-humour."
Once upon a time, in the not too distant past, a group of French students led a Rebellion against the monarchy. They failed and all but one of them lost their lives on the barricade. One of these students, a young man called Grantaire, carried no belief in the cause. He was there for one man. A man he had fallen madly in love with, but who carried only disdain for him. For this man, he gave his life. Falling with him at the end.
More than a century later, his soul has been reborn into a man who bears his name. He's drifted into a circle of friends, not knowing that these young men and women carry the souls of former comrades.
[Les Miserables AU. Concept is mine, characters belong to Victor Hugo. I'm only playing around in his sandbox. Mun and muse are well over 18.]
